There has been some consideration of reviewing qualifying conditions by the Subcommittee, DPHHS, and the Board of Medical Examiners. With the recent action by the Veterans’ Administration to permit returning vets to utilize medical cannabis and President Obama’s specific mention of PTSD as a qualifying condition, should the Subcommittee consider adding PTSD to the list of qualifying medical conditions?
Yes, marijuana is a relaxant and adding PTSD would help a lot of patients who are suffering.
ReplyDeleteYes. It is disturbing that none of the proposed legislation for 2011 includes methods of petitioning to add new conditions.
ReplyDeleteThe bill that establishes a regulatory system (LC 100)changes the list of accepted qualifying conditions to mirror that of New Mexico. EXCEPT for the inclusion of PTSD. Why they would do that I have no idea except that it would qualify HUNDREDS of vets in MT with PTSD to use MMJ, placing further stress on the understaffed DPHHS.
Great idea!
ReplyDeleteI definitely think that PTSD should be added to the list of debilitating medical conditions for Montana state. There are a lot of veterans suffering all over the nation that would benefit from this addition to all the medical marijuana state laws. Nobody should have to suffer in pain.
ReplyDeleteWith Montana's high poverty rate and accompanying trauma's along with the high veteran population it is imperative that PTSD be recognized as qualifying condition. Affected individuals live in a constant state of fight or flight and marijuana is a fairly inexpensive way to manage the parasympathetic nervous system when in that state.
ReplyDeletea must!! If the veterans administration can see the value, we must!!
ReplyDeleteIt's the least we can do for our vets and anyone else with the condition. Let's give them the support on the back end they really need!!!!
ReplyDeleteThere are others besides vets who have been abused and suffer PTSD, so yes this should be a recommendable condition. Can anyone please explain WHY chronic pain is being considered for removal from the list?
ReplyDeleteI suffer from PTSD not only from the military but more so from childhood. I am also a current mmj card holder and can attest to everyone's conviction that this should be passed right alongside with full legalization! I mean c'mon people! We are talking about a plant that you cannot die from overdose and has numerous health benefits that need to be documented in a medical journal NOW!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious why my previous post has been removed. My other post began "Yes, Kushy..."
ReplyDeleteYour post is still there...it's under the topic of public smoking.
